Well with him the top 3 becomes, Sachin, then Hutton, then Viv. At the end of the day Hutton is a flat 6 point above Viv while having to play half or more his games in the most absurdly bowler friendly era of the sport, Viv had a great tempo of scoring but he can't overcome that, especially with opener tax on top.

Hutton is not really post war, otherwise you'd have to count the Don too, but Hutton beats both Smith and Viv.

Sobers is just Windies Sachin, amazing everywhere, debuted as Teen, played for 20 years straight
For me Hutton can beat neither Viv nor Smith.

International Captain
When do we think Smith is retiring? Many were saying this ashes but in his current form I think he could go at least till the 27/28 home summer. Aus batting is pretty mediocre without him too.

This match kind of perfectly showed why Hutton deserves even more credit, basically a Rawalpindi road pitch, attack with one good seamer and one decent one supported by basically nothing and yet the new ball was lethal and bodied the strongest batting unit in the world. Hutton had to face the same new ball, with more refined seam and durability his entire career on mostly livelier pitches until 1950, when almost every wicket became a green mamba.
