Whoever was saying that is an idiot. Khawaja is likely the only one to retire. Smith’ll play til at least this whole next WTC and the 150th anniversary test. Possibly yeah go out with a nice Ashes win at home. When do we think Smith is retiring? Many were saying this ashes but in his current form I think he could go at least till the 27/28 home summer. Aus batting is pretty mediocre without him too.
He should retire @oval in 2027 ashes just like don did in 1948Whoever was saying that is an idiot. Khawaja is likely the only one to retire. Smith’ll play til at least this whole next WTC and the 150th anniversary test. Possibly yeah go out with a nice Ashes win at home.
Yeah but it's not just about playing the best bowlers, it's of not much use if you're going to throw it away against lesser bowlersI would not rate a player till he retires but get a feeling viv is underrated here. Man destroyed likes of Lillee thommo imran wills and hadlee along with great spinners like chandra and bedi( they might not be atgs like warne or murali but way better then anyone smith faced expect maybe ashwin)
I think it really gets ignored at times, and it's not really just about Viv. He had some of the Greatest Series against Great bowlers, but in comparison didn't cash in as much as he could overall.Yeah but it's not just about playing the best bowlers, it's of not much use if you're going to throw it away against lesser bowlers
Viv did series where he should have scored 500 runs( 81-82 aus 83 india home and away) but everyone has loopholes in their resumeYeah but it's not just about playing the best bowlers, it's of not much use if you're going to throw it away against lesser bowlers
Combine Viv's ability to destroy against tough opponents and Weekes's ability to feast and you get BABViv did series where he should have scored 500 runs( 81-82 aus 83 india home and away) but everyone has loopholes in their resume
YesCombine Viv's ability to destroy against tough opponents and Weekes's ability to feast and you get BAB
Man did I love to watch Robin Smith bat.
ZeroDaily Reminder that Viv Richards has zero output issues.
Sobers is everyoneHutton is not really post war, otherwise you'd have to count the Don too, but Hutton beats both Smith and Viv.
Sobers is just Windies Sachin, amazing everywhere, debuted as Teen, played for 20 years straight
