Excited but at the same time no idea how our group can respond to higher quality so slightly nervous.
Must admit, could have done with Bedders scoring some runs for Durham. Be nice for him to be in the groove as things haven't been to impressive for him of late.

Seeing Klaasen smash it for SRH in the IPL , kind of makes me a bit sad ..
Definitely a big opportunity missed with this player at the international level , it was all far too brief and at times a career mismanaged especially in test cricket.

He has done quite well but in crunch moments hasn't been able to get us over the line. Sad story for us in ICC events. Is there a pressure that has been passed on from team to team and they want it so much I don't know.

Interesting that Moonsamy is given as the gloveman. From what I've seen Qeshile's among the more consistent domestically, though I want to say I saw a couple of errors in the limited overs stuff. Subrayen seems very exposed at 8, I'd have considered Mpongwana in place of Cele; not sure Cele's extra 10km of pace is such a huge factor in the wi.

Jason Smith in 7 games for KZN didn't bowl a ball. He's on in the first session here. The whole way he got into the side was by maximising his batting under Zulu... Same happened when he was in the sa limited overs sides. Suddenly, he's pressed to play as an all-rounder. This feels like Behardien all over again, who after his first 3 seasons as a bowling all-rounder gradually gave up to focus on batting, excelled, but then when selected was used as an all-rounder again, which felt so unfair as he wasn't able to focus on establishing himself as a proper lo finisher.

Walter was saying he has to be bowling to make it into the SA set-up. Supposedly he has been carrying niggles and not really bowling much for the Dolphins for that reason but still I get what you are saying. Swung the ball yesterday.
Remembering the balance issue & Behardien having to bowl in that team
I remember Farhana, abd and temba having to bowl 10 between them....Walter was saying he has to be bowling to make it into the SA set-up. Unfortunately the all rounders at the time , David Wiese, Chris Morris , Wayne Parnell , Dwaine Pretorius , Albie Morkel , Rory Kleinveldt, Ryan McLaren etc they didn't make the spots their own even Philander wasnt really given more responsibility with the bat than perhaps he could have been given, or the selectors were too conservative, or a combination of both in white ball cricket

Every all rounder seemed to be measured up to Kallis which was pretty stupid ..
We should have definitely taken more risks in getting a serviceable 5th bowler seeing that we had 6 or 7 world class players in the white ball side that did the heavy lifting more often than not. (Amla, QDK, Faf, Abd , Miller , Steyn ,Morkel , Tahir)
