YJK is REALBack to back hundreds for mulder. Maybe he is a test #3?
The talent has always been there. I’ve never found anything obviously wrong with his technique as well, he just never managed to get more than a start for like 7 years!Back to back hundreds for mulder. Maybe he is a test #3?
I’m not discounting his runs, especially that knock in Bangladesh but I hope the upward curve continues against more competitive opposition. I think he needed to prove to himself he can score runs at this level. In his 11 matches before Shukri Conrad became coach, Mulder averaged 14.31 with the bat. Since Conrad took over it's been 46.72 (not including this match), so giving him a proper run in the side has definitely paid off.
Absolutely. It's a little hard to judge this innings and his previous one given the opposition, but it still must have done his confidence a world of good.I’m not discounting his runs, especially that knock in Bangladesh but I hope the upward curve continues against more competitive opposition. I never buy into the “oh it’s just x team blah blah blah”. Upsets happen in any sport and if you take a team lightly you will pay for it. He should score runs against this Zim attack and he has emphatically. But someone like de Zorzi hasn’t. I know Conrad wants him to go well but I’m beginning to think his best format may be ODI cricket.Absolutely. Honestly if you have Mulder in the top 7 then I’d go with Coetzee because he is totally different to Jansen, KG and Mulder. Although I wouldn’t be upset if Burger was in. Reverse swing with a left arm at 145+ is so rare.Rabada had work to do in Asia and in Bangladesh he didn't mess about. So good start ahead of Pak & India.
Who is South Africa's 2nd best quick for Asia? I'm asking because de we assume Jansen 8 Muthusamy 9 Rabada 10 Maharaj 11 (who he himself needs better in India)
Marco Jansen
Lungi Ngidi
Gerald Coetzee
Nandre Burger
Lizaad Williams
Corbin Bosch
Codi Yusuf
Kwena Maphaka
Jansen unless Pakistan produces absolute Turners and we go 3 spinners with wiaan as kg's opening bowling partner.Rabada had work to do in Asia and in Bangladesh he didn't mess about. So good start ahead of Pak & India.

This is if we play three seamers. Otherwise it’s Jansen and KG.Honestly if you have Mulder in the top 7 then I’d go with Coetzee because he is totally different to Jansen, KG and Mulder. Although I wouldn’t be upset if Burger was in. Reverse swing with a left arm at 145+ is so rare.
Maybe the reason why Mulder was moved to no.3 was that he could play 2nd seamer in Pakistan and IndiaRabada had work to do in Asia and in Bangladesh he didn't mess about. So good start ahead of Pak & India.

He's a lot like Jesse Ryder imoI've finally clocked who Pretorius reminds me of , he's not elegant in the true left hander sense , lots of power , likes to sometimes jump onto off stump and maneuver the ball to the onside , lot of bottom hand in his drives , powerfully built man ..yes he reminds of a young Graeme Smith
I'm sure the truth will come out in a book oneday, it all depends on what Mulder told his teammates outside of the team meeting. If he was genuinely uncomfortable at the thought of breaking Lara's record and Conrad simply echoed his thoughts I don't think it will be a problem within the group. If Manthorpe is right and it was Shuks decision in the change room... From what I can understand, because it had been decided to bat for 4 sessions only... then I don't know what to say... I'm flabbergasted. I don't really doubt it.
And this could really hurt the team on so many levels, after he had done such a good job bringing the team together.
The way he was playing before the break makes me think he was going for it... Was taking every opportunity he could.I'm sure the truth will come out in a book oneday, it all depends on what Mulder told his teammates outside of the team meeting. But if Mulder showed enthusiam to go for the record that his teammates saw , and was stopped by some reverse psychology BS from Conrad then that is disgusting. Denied a young man an opportunity that will never come again and probably cost South Africa much needed Test Cricket publicity on a World scale.
