Running Out Of Players Draft - Season 1

Is there a doco on the Bosch story at all, id like to watch it.
Not that I'm aware of, but it is certainly a fascinating and tragic story. Done a lot of reading about his life and career, if there isn't some form of doco on him there certainly should be.

SeamUp might know

Ridiculous batting depth, with Lohmann in FC averaging 18 in a terrible era for batting and Griffith 16/17 with Reid keeping. The bowling depth is also great; Woolley and Noble are pretty good spinners excluding their batting. The Fry-Ranji partnership is legendary and that middle order is legendary even excluding the batting all-rounders from 6-8. Rather like this side; it has 7 all-rounders in the top XI effectively.

I'd prefer Clarke out for Constantine in that side.

That's interesting (I mean it).

Can you explain why? Just better Test credentials? Better all round package?

In my mind Clarke was quicker and I want a bowler like that in my XI, but they are both listed as right arm fast. I also have fredfertang in my head talking about his ex wifes and also perhaps more importantly talking up Sylvester.

I too think Constantine was probably far more talented than his stats indicate

He certainly had a legendary reputation back in the day. Was the big superstar from the West Indies after Headley of course

Imho ranking an early years figure head above a guy who didn't get a lot of chances due to being down the pecking order is fair enough (even if that pecking order is other worldly). You can never measure exposed talent across eras but impact on the game is certainly an indicator of ability where it may be close.

Maybe I should shift out Turner instead?

I prefer this. I know its harsh on old Charlie who I picked relatively early.

I should never have made a comment... Turner's very underrated here. IMO 7th greatest Aus quick; Cummins will probably push him out but not yet I don't think.

Anyway time for me to stop interfering with your XI.

Nah its good that you made a comment. I honestly struggle with bowlers from pre WW1. I just dont trust the stats. I picked Turner early but it was bugging me for bowling balance reasons.

I really do care about combinations and try to work out on a typical day how the 90 overs would be shared. And yeah, I just find it harder to work out with Turner in the XI.

Tl dr: Im not going to pick many WW1 bowlers moving forward.
