What's this sudden greenidge hate here? He was ATG in Eng, Nz, very good in India, pretty great at home as well. Australia and Pakistan away are problems but there are many bats from 00s and different era who are rated as ATGs and have similar problems in 2/3 countries?
Thala_0710 is to blame, he started saying stupid things like Greenidge is better than Weekes and Compton and that Greenidge being compared to Gower is unfathomably wrong, and led to this.

Gower is ridiculously underrated here, he may loose to vengsarkar here, situation is that bad. Regarding compton vs greenidge, it's close and you know how highly I rate compton. Compton definitely better but not by much, and Compton is better than Weekes for mine.

I don't think it's that clear either for Stokes, what the primary vs secondary skill is. Initially, like the vast majority of allrounders in Test cricket history, he wouldn't have been picked if not for his ability to be a frontline bowler for England.

I know Imran and Stokes have DNBed matches. I don't recall Jadeja having done so.

Anyone know if Miller, Botham or Kapil had a significant run of DNBs being picked as essentially Specialist bats?

Miller didn’t bowl in 3 matches, all against England, in 3 seperate series, 2 of them mention in the match reports him having injury/soreness leaving him unable to bowl - safe to assume it was also the case in the third.

Botham didn’t bowl in 2 matches, consecutively against Pakistan. In the first, Pakistan never batted. In the second, his foot was crunched whilst batting and he was unable to take the field for the rest of the match.

Kapil bowled in every match.

Jadeja didn’t bowl in South Africa in a match last year (the one where Siraj destroyed them in the first innings)
