You do realise, some batsmen are better vs spin than pace, and vice versa? That glamour factor of scoring runs against Warne fades when you have likes of Kambli and Sidhu tonking him as if it's backyard cricket game. The same batsmen would struggle against ball bouncing slightly higher from someone like Franklyn Rose.
The man made runs all over the world. Please stop this crap about inflated home averages. At his peak, Smith made runs in India, NZ, England and RSA etcI rate him the best bat of the era and 6/7 in my all time list.
Yes he was exceptional in his skills and that doesn't contradict having some of the easiest home conditions which inflated his peak average.
Wow he scored runs away too?! OMG, I never heard that before! The man made runs all over the world. Please stop this crap about inflated home averages. At his peak, Smith made runs in India, NZ, England and RSA etc
Get used to it. Soon we will be having to justify Viv in the top ten bats.peak Sachin ahead of peak Viv?

Umm no. I usually try to steer clear of your diatribe but A. You're usually the one jumping all over me and a certain other whenever we post and B. you keep spewing the same stuff over and over and over and over again and someone has to call you out on your tiresome pov.Wow he scored runs away too?! OMG, I never heard that before!
Are you programmed to take offense at everything I say?
He had pancakes at home and he was an ATG bat in one of the best peaks ever and he filled his pockets.
Yeah, sadly, everything about Viv somehow got into questionGet used to it. Soon we will be having to justify Viv in the top ten bats.
It's just dismantling the status quo behind your favourite era, notice how most of the Viv detractors have preference for 90s and 2000s? this is a process you can see happening with older players too, with how hostile some Modern day player fanbases are to Sachin/McGrath/Lara, 20 years from now, you'd be reading about how Brian Lara was an overrated test batsmen and how Root or Kallis are better because someone decided Lara's numbers don't match his reputation. It’s because of the numbers
An average just above 50
Just 24 centuries and record skewed by one year
TBH Viv Richards is underrated as a test batsman and it becomes even more impressive if you take into consideration his strike rate.

you are the exceptionI have not noticed
I have already seen about how Kallis > Lara in some places20 years from now, you'd be reading about how Brian Lara was an overrated test batsmen and how Root or Kallis are better because someone decided Lara's numbers don't match his reputation.
Narayana"s rampage on Sachin also tells us a lot.I have already seen about how Kallis > Lara in some places
You are almost always the one initiating contact to Tut Tut and scold me.Umm no. I usually try to steer clear of your diatribe but A. Unfortunately Kallis overreacting has sunk deep. As I point out, nobody rated him as high as they do now during his actual career.

Yeah, Lara and Viv sadly do not have the statistical invulnerability of guys like Tendulkar, Hutton and Smith.Lara is definitely liable to be kicked out of the top ten bats too in the future.
If you never heard of Lara and just saw his record, where would you rate him?Yeah, Lara and Viv sadly do not have the statistical invulnerability of guys like Tendulkar, Hutton and Smith.
