Pakistani Domestic Competition = Shambles!

In the Patron's Trophy, the main domestic Tournament in Pakistan, there was a qualifying competition scheduled before the First Round Proper.

National Bank and Habib Bank were knocked out, depriving them of any FC Cricket this season.

The answer, they appealed to be allowed to play on, and the PCB agreed, allowing 4 more teams to play the competition.

Instead of an 8 team competition, it's now 12!

Well it makes sense, because if 4 teams are booted out, that means a lot of players are immediately unable to be judged on performances...

But restructuring the whole competition?!

It is possible for just about anything related to Pakistani cricket to degenerate into farce at just about any given time.
The country as a whole is not the greatest so far as organisation is concerned and The PCB is no different.
If GWB thinks he can help with that, good luck to him, in his crusade to stabilise The World.

Everything about the way Pakistani cricket is run is a shambles , most of the people on this forum (well , maybe not Amit :P ) could run things better than they do.

Particularly the panicky , knee jerk selections.

If it means you have more players to pick from, and it benefits the National team, why not? Although I doubt it was for that reason, it does seem to be a by-product of it and will benefit the National Team. Makes a change from the English CC teams who seem to want to help themselves more.

Thinking logically will leave you even more confused when you look at all things Pakistani :P

The thing we can be closest to certain of is that there will be more farcial events throughout the season.

I wonder what will be next - a team demands to play 15 players because they're all good players?

No, ICC would put a stop to that, declaring the matches non-First-Class. They've always got to make sure their latest ludicrousy is something not outside international cricket law.
A very similar strategy to another farcially run establishment, in this case the Zimbabwean govornment. Pretend to the outside World that there's nothing wrong enough times and no-one can prove otherwise.
