Overkill of T20 Franchise Tournaments at the moment

You are absolutely right. But the issue for them is, January is the only month comparatively free of international calendar as well as IPL. Hence, they are cramming it all up within this month.

These are the only format games that draw in crowds in some parts of the cricketing world like South Africa for example, a guy like Ryan Rickleton whose been a domestic cricketer for a decent amount of time said that he had never played in front of a packed Newlands ground before the SA T20... Love Test cricket but cricket will be dictated by the support.

Seems like there are 4 competitions on at the same time, Sure its great for fans and from the choice point of view as well. But surely they can have an allocated time so they can all get better players

Or do you think i'm wrong in my assessment?
this ain’t happening until the icc starts acting like the regulatory body it should be rather than a puppet that has does nothing unless someone powerful wants it to

modern football has a lot of wrong things but the one time private parties wanted to make a fundamental change to the nature of it the pushback was unanimous and strong from regulatory bodies, fans and even the govt alike

What I particularly hate is players leaving one T20 comp halfway through to go to another one.

I mean how many have left the Big Bash to go to the SA20 - that shouldn't be allowed

Well Playing for your own nation should be 1st priority, all other country's Cricket Board should follow BCCI " not to allows players to go other league or only retired players can go in other League. "

When players signed contract they have option to play all matches or leave on certain days for other league or for your own nation" this problem will be happen in IPL 2024 (94 matches) instead of 74.

I bet nz players sticks with Complete IPL 2024 seasons than leave early unless test matches.

ICC thinking to scrap ODI forever, i doubt they can do this in near future.

I think you are wrong. It is good they are all on at the same time.

Ok. Why do you think that considering all of them should have access to the worlds best players?

I mean if they decided to do long T20 and a Transfer market system then that would be cool. But we are in a half way house

Can other boards afford to pay 10-20% of the players' cut(extra?) to the home board? Because that's how BCCI got first dibs on most of these players.

I think if you leave a competition to play for your country then that's obviously perfectly acceptable.

But lots of players left the BBL for the SA20, presumably because there's more cash on offer and leaves a bit of a sour taste.

I don't agree with the BCCI stance either as that harms India as their players don't get the experience of playing around the world in different conditions.

I don't mind them being on at the same time, but players shouldn't be able to switch competitions midway through. The 4 competition winners could then have a play-off.
