I had my misgivings about Mulder at no.3 for this very reason , just not secure in his batting yet to be taking on such roles.

I know he is batting 3, but there has to be a massive concern that his batting against quality looks so far off being able to deal with high quality bowling.

It's not like he has had 12-15 innings at test level now.

If he is batting 7 he may still have to deal with a new ball. It's just judging what you see, and he doesn't look the level we as SA hope we can get and have been used to.
