Arse from Carse at the end but all immaterial as England cruiser home. Once again the spinners bowling the lions share.

Weird they haven't worked out that Carse does a decent Plunkett in the middle overs impression for 50 over stuff, but isn't a death bowler's arse, or frankly an opening bowler's arse, and certainly not right for T20 at all.

Another thrashing. Considering how many low scores we got from.key players, getting 211 shows the potential of our batting. I also enjoyed their clear attempts to play a few more ramps and scoops to complement the big hits down the ground.

Ultimately though, we're not going to chase 249. Our bowling needs a complete revamp. Personally, I'd drop Romario, he's a runstruck. We have batting depth anyway and the bowling needs reinforcing.

Still, positive signs for England. That batting lineup was relentless.

No need to play him if he's one of your Test starters anyway. Archer, Wood and Mahmood are more than handy.

I wasn't sure about moving Smith to the top at first. I feared he could be another Prior who despite his obvious talent, never found a clear role in limited overs cricket. But those doubts haven't lasted long. Remaining in the IPL has probably not done a lot for Salt's International future, it's clear that Smith is a whole different class. Duckett has become one of the most dependable openers in all forms, whilst Bethell continues to look like a supreme talent - sad that the WI lost him. It is a proper powerhouse of a batting order.

But the usual doubts remain with the bowling, although Wood is definitely a handy addition to the T20 set up - decent fielder too.

I think Smith has a far wider range of shots than Prior ever had to be perfectly honest, so it wasn't a bad shout to put him up there. What this series hasn't done, as has been rightly said is showcase any limited overs new bowling talent. That's the issue and one that isn't going to be solved with the crisp packet tourney and 2nd XI 50 over comp that results from the former.

I didn't realise this series was being played but then I saw the first two were rained off so maybe that's not quite my bad.
