Utterly embarrassing. The chickens of the rest of the summer are coming home to roost hard. How did Green and Head get out like that? Smith just looks shot, like he needs to think about his future going forward. And the bowling really needs to figure out how to bowl with an old ball.

If only we had a specialist opener to blunt the new ball for the middle order
I'm sure bancroft/renshaw blunting the new ball would have stopped green from hitting a half volley to a fielder, or head from tickling one down leg to the keeper  . Where not getting done in by banana swing FFS.

lol what a great idea to move a 34 year old to open and bring in a bloke who hasn't really cracked it at test level to bat at the important number 4 position.

It would certainly help if we weren't two down in the first two overs but I don't think that really justifies any of what we've seen so far

I mean its bad, but its not like we have Ollie Pope at 3.

It could be so much worse.

If West Indies win, the biggest upset since? I think it could legit be bigger than Bangladesh beating New Zealand in New Zealand.
West Indies have a better bowling attack than Bangladesh, and Bangladesh were missing Shakib and Tamim in that match ..So I think Bangladesh was a bigger upset

Let's be real it's still only been literally 2 innings

Green looks real bad though. Reckon that was the wrong call

Marsh is probably gonna play a freak knock and save Aus again.

Ever since the wtc final, the aus test team has been very lucky.
I mean if he saves Aus with his powerhouse hitting is it really luck or great temperament? I think Marsh deserves credit for turning his international career around and becoming Australia's best 3 format player

That was just plain bad. Green should actually be dropped
Something just doesn't feel right with how he handles Test cricket. He does have an excellent technique (if a bit front-foot reliant), but too often just seems to get out. He doesn't feel anywhere near as comfortable at Test level as he does at Shield level.

With that and Marsh's run of form and Head's inconsistent brilliance at Test level you have to wonder whether all sides should just go **** it and play full Bazball. Because whatever Australia's doing with their batting isn't working.

Would you take marsh over head as a 3 format player right now? Definitely between one of those two.
