***Official*** West Indies in Sri Lanka

this is just odd Sri lanka so troubled by the pace of the windies bowlers, a problem that all sub-continent batsmen have...

3/12 now - here's the brilliant description from Cricinfo .
4.2 Vaas to Morton, OUT: Oh dear! one must not leave balls close to off
stump when Vass is bowling as he has that wonderful in-dipper and
this one was a perfect demonstration as it looked headed but hit
the stumps
:D

Virat Kohli (c)
WI 5/85.

Not one team in both current tests, Aus vs. Eng and WI vs. SL, have passed the 200 mark in their first innings. WI would have to battle to get there from here. Amazing.

Is this a reserve batting line-up for the Windies, I haven't heard of a few of them.
Sponsorship row means ten players - including Lara, Sarwan, Gayle, Edwards, Wavell Hinds, Collymore, Collins off the top of my head - are out. So yes, it's West Indies "A" + Chanderpaul and Powell. To top that, you've got a supposedly West Indies "A" side touring Sri Lanka as well, which is more like West Indies "B"

Powell: steady bowler, useful pace, good accuracy when in form, nice shape away from the righthanders.

Best: explosive bowler, lots of pace, too much emotion.

Lawson: troubled by ICC allegations.

Banks: a fair amount of spin, too little accuracy.

The performance of Powell and Best should cause a few nerves for Edwards, Collymore etc. regarding their places in the Team should and when they make themselves available !! :D

yeah, there is no doubt that the Windies A batsmen have no clue of playing a left arm inswinging ball.
I don't think that was the only delivery that Vaas bowls that got him all six wickets !!
Vaas deserves credit regardless of the quality of his opposition !!

But SL batsmen have struggled against the West Indies A team attack too !! :)

So may this bowling attack (WI A team) is better than what most of us have given it credit so far !
The Lankan batsmen are pretty mediocre ATM. Taufel did give Jayasuriya a bad decision but the others batted like rubbish !!

Windies would have taken a 2/0 victory over SL if Lara, Sarwan, Gayle and co had played.

They may still win this one , as SL end up with an undeserved 2 run lead over the Windies on first innings.

Tino Best all fired up and getting a bit carried away it seems !

20.6 Best to Jayawardene, FOUR, a beamer and its hits the glove on the
way to fine leg and umpire Hill lets him off

Some attention for the thumb and drinks called too

22.1 Best to Jayawardene, no run, left alone as a short ball is fired in
after words were exchanged between Jayawardene and Best for that
not-called beamer

Sloppy umpiring their ...... That definitely should be a no ball as it was a very dangerous beamer.

Game looks to be really moving towards the Sri Lankan side now, only two down at stumps with a solid lead that is ever increasing.

just wanted to say that ive been really impressed with samaraweera who really justifies his average and has a very very good temperament.
narsingh deonarine too looks like one for the future.

I think only Deonarine and Ramdin should be persisted with after this tour if the others become available. Ramdass hasn't gotten a chance yet so don't know. Marshall isn't ready yet. If these bowlers minus Banks can keep it together along with Edwards, Collymore and Collins then things can change pretty quickly if the batting somehow becomes consistent.
