Similar to the start of the first test where he bowled a lot of overs conceding about 1.5 per over, but it was because he didn't make the batsman play. Has made the batsman play more here, but not threatened enough.
Meanwhile a couple of great outswingers from Joseph that over.

Basically the complete opposite approach to what made him one of the world's best bowlers over the last 2 years. He hit the stumps and moved the ball alot.

It's been chancy but I hope Nicholls is playing himself into some form and confidence here. He has to do something about that weakness to fast bowlers on his front thigh and underarm though - Australia exploited it e.g. caught short fine leg iirc, and on a quick pitch like this one Windies have had him in trouble there too. Whole setup just makes it very hard for him to keep the ball down if it's on that thigh, both the leg glance and the pull.

He's never exactly looked great even when scoring runs. This is fairly normal IMO.
