You’re joking right? He’s as self made as they come. Valedictorian in Uni, math prodigy and served 2 years in Kashmir.
If you have a politician for a parent who's buddies with the guy running your country who you later helped build a stadium for...

International Debutant
KL getting tied down.
He is but he isn't the sort of guy that gets rattled by it, the last thing India needs is for him to crack under the pressure and throw his wicket away now.

The run rate still isn't that important, these two batting for at least another 10 to 15 overs is more important.

Our top order has a near identical structure
Much stronger lower order though, which is the point.

India's 8-11 couldn't shepherd home a chase, or finish hard like Australia's have done in the tournament so far.

What India needs is for the dopey **** to not have one of his mental fadeouts

Time will tell if he translates it into a good knock. There's time.

A lot of people would be bagging Rahul for scoring this slowly but he is playing just the right sort of innings in this situation, underrated batsman.
He has, but it does look like he’s struggling to time it though now. He may have batted himself into a bit of a hole.

good captaincy by Cummins to get some cheap part time overs in here. Gives him flexibility later on

If the tail wasn't this long, these guys would try to score more quickly.
they really wouldn't

having a #8 doesn't mean you trust them that much

with a good #8 you can start death over batting 2 overs earlier than original plan thats it

He needs to show more intent. Different than askit him to be aggressive.

To a degree, but Australia should really be attacking at this stage. Hard to do when the opposition aren't throwing a punch, but can afford to push for wickets.

Also means there are plenty of overs left for Starc to blast through the tail if they chip away.

KL thinking that batting like Geoff Marsh with a migraine is elite cricketing

25 off 54 now. There's lots of time but I think he will want to get a move on sooner rather than later.
