*Official* Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh ODI Series 2019

Does anyone actually care about this
Neutrals won't, but Bangladesh will be looking to assert themselves despite missing some seniors, and SL looked like a reinvigorated ODI unit during the WC, and are hoping to get a cheap ODI series under their belt (how long since they won one?) and really build a proper recovery in the post Malinga era

It's pretty disappointing that Thisara Perera hasn't been dropped tbh, I suppose it wasn't that long ago that he was playing insane knocks in NZ with the tail for company but he has proved pretty unreliable this year and flopped hard in the WC, both with ball and bat, SL selectors have a bit of an unhealthy liking for fast bowling all-rounders and he has benefited greatly throughout his career

For a guy who averages over 60 with the bat in FC cricket, BD are sure under-utilizing him by sending him at #7 instead of #3.

RE: Mosadeek

Correction: his FC average is under 60 now

DdS has bowled damn well tonight, really deserved his two wickets, especially after his first couple overs were milked hard, has an ability to vary his pace well and get the odd one to grip, very handy but needs to play alongside a specialist spinner IMO

Malinga finishes his ODI career with a wicket off the last ball he bowl. Winning the game for his nation.

338 wickets

And there it is, the last real link to those good old days in the mid 2000s when SL was a true force in ODI cricket, goodbye

Malinga has been the most entertaining bowler of the last 10 years in ODIs. You can't change my mind. The other standout quick of this decade alongside Starc. Ridiculous WC record with so many epic spells. Such a fun and gun cricketer. Legend.

every time a player who was young when i was retires i feel even older. malinga stood out as a world class quick who did things his own way.

sad to see nuwan go as well, i always enjoyed him and the refusal of some people and most commentators to acknowledge his excellence because he was a medium pacer was amusing. i didnt realise his bowling fell off a cliff so bad for him to end with such bad stats.

On his day when the ball was hooping Kula was great, had some surprisingly good skills at the death too, but as I said earlier in the thread when the ball wasn't swinging much and he was missing his lengths he was cannon fodder, and he was much too predictable to succeed at test level, although he had a decent little run in 2009-12 iirc

Shame Pradeep won't make it to the next WC, looks really decent everytime he bowls, can't be far away from test selection either

It would help him if he didn't get injured every five minutes. Been a huge problem with SL's pace bowlers recently.
