good win to finish the season, if only we could have turned a couple of those draws into win then we would be playing for some silverware.

What a great effort from the guys to give us a chance of making the final, if only we could have showed that commitment more often in the latter half of the season. As Bosco said, those draws have come back to haunt us. However, this has been our most successful first class season (I think) and although disappointing to miss out on the final we have had a lot of positive signs and plenty to build on for next season.

From a personal point of view it was disappointing to leave one of my best performances until the last game of the season, really needed to show that more often.

Hopefully now, we can reverse our fortune and somehow make the OD final.

Must say, it has been a very competitive season.

Blue unlucky to miss out on final after some awesome recent form, just went a bit poo in the last match. We'll be back stronger next season and win everything.

Disappointing. A few of our key players really went missing with a spot in the final on the line.

First time we've missed the FC final in a few seasons isn't it?

Just have to make sure we win in the ODer now.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
A very pleasing way to end the season. Obviously would've liked to make the final but simply, if you can't turn draws into wins then you don't deserve to make it. The win-draw-loss ratio of 8:6:6 says it all really. Not the worst team, not the best. Not living up to potential.

Those negatives aside, I've enjoyed this season and I think a lot of our boys can be particularly proud of what they've done. Rai and Bosco have formed an extremely successful combination, with 7 (possibly 8?) century+ stands this season.
No less than 6 batsmen passed 1000 runs for the season, with 5 averaging above 40. I think that's possibly our best collective batting effort yet.

Kerr was immense, showing his talent which was reflected by a call up.
Bosco had a real breakout season, though it tailed off at the end. 6 centuries is impressive, and he backed it up with some solid keeping as well. A future CWXI rep IMO.
Towns really surprised me, tbh. He's always been a solid runscorer but he exceeded expectations this season  An experienced head at number 3.
Butler came back well after a slow start to the season, showing his overall class, while Wilson continues to be a beast in the lower order, which is great. Have quite a good tail now with Weber also having a superb season with the bat.
Cole did really quite well in his debut season, though that unfortunate injury didn't help, otherwise he probably would've made 1000 runs as well. As it stands, it was a very promising debut, and his part timers will come in handy.
Pimpkins got a limited chance, thanks to his ban, but did well and could possibly fill the awkward number 7 position of batting and doing a bit of bowling. Seems outside our 4 main bowlers the all-rounders/part timers had a tough time of it.
Unfortunately Hancock couldn't continue on from last seasons FC form with the bat, and had a tough time of it with the ball. He's not completely out of the frame though for next season, and should be there or thereabouts come season 15.
Unfortunately Max had a poor time with the bat (maybe not helped by shuffling) but his keeping was superb. Maybe some off season runs will give him some confidence and will be an improved player for next season.

Bowling wise, we seemed to be about the same as last season, with no two bowlers dominating completely, but more of a pack.
Wright followed up 100 wickets from 13 not in the greatest of ways, though he rarely went wicketless in an innings iirc, and if we were getting spanked, his figures were still respectable and didn't blow out like another fast bowler in the side  He kept with the faith with me last season, when he carried the attack, so we returned in kind. Will next year be the year Wright+Thomas take 200? Who knows.
Tbh, I felt we weren't getting the maximum out of Wilso, who was solid with flashes of brilliance with the ball. He (and Weber) kept the run rate down while we new ballers were frivolous with runs. Still a gun all-rounder, and he'd make the side on bowling or batting alone.
Weber started the season fantastically, and looked as though he'd end up taking 80+, but fell away, possibly due to bad man/tactic management by that Thomas bloke. His batting was an immense bonus. A number 9 averaging 30 is very very handy.
Personally, I'm extremely pleased with my season. After being dropped from the test team, and averaging 35+ last season, to break 100 wickets for the season for the first time, to get a recall, was a fantastic feeling. My economy is still deplorable, not sure if that's something I'll ever properly wrangle, but as long as I keep taking wickets...
Spinks only really got one chance and did okay. We'll see more form him in the off-season and next season.
Bochat; love this guy. Stays active despite not being a first team regular, which is unfortunate, because he's been with us a while now but never had a full chance in FC cricket, which I guess is perhaps reflective of our strong bowling unit. Had just the two solitary appearances this season, and admittedly didn't make the most of that. I'd really like to give him a proper run in the future.

Last, and definitely not least, is Dan Rai. Left him until last deliberately, tbh. His stats don't scream that he had an amazing season, but I certainly appreciate his effort and commitment to the team. Changed to a opening bat to help out the team, and finally made an impact. He was maybe overshadowed by Bosco in the opening slots, but he made runs, saw off the new ball, and even threw down a few overs.
Am really pleased to see him make runs, and be apart of a fine opening partnership.

There are a couple of areas that we can work on for next season. We could possibly think about playing 3 specialist seamers, plus Wilson (and Weber of course) to put away those matches that we're drawing.
Batting seems to be the strong point at the moment, though at times there seemed to be a lot of starts, followed by the next batsmen being dismissed for a single figure score. Would like to stamp that out somehow.

Have enjoyed the FC season (and OD too, now we don't suck that much at it). Cheers Liam & Hak, CW's Green and Black. Other two teams can gagf.

Nah just kidding, have enjoyed the increased, and at times overly hostile, banter and rivalry this season. It is just a simulation league after all, and designed to be a bit of fun - though I can understand the frustration experienced by others (experienced it myself, with our ****house choking).

Shame we didn't quite reach the final. Seeing as we were sitting at 3 - 6 after 9 and then to even get into finals contention shows how strong we are as a unit.

Capitulating in the second whilst being able to bat solid to 9 is a bit of a misfire. Collins will be spewing.
