Quadruple digits might be a hard ask here. Need 7 an over to get there by tea, and we don't have sloggers to come except Henry. No rain scheduled though which is good.
NZ could bat for another 200 overs and still win the game. The thing potentially stopping them from reaching a thousand is Walter taking pity on their neighbour.

I do think relentlessly punishing a minnow is pointless and that we had more than enough.

But at least let the lads go for 200
It's not pointless. You gotta raise the bar for these so-called minnows and make them understand that every time they come to play, they need to be on top of their game else you are just going through the motions.

No participation points. No mercy.

To be fair as well, especially given the cricket calendar it's a pretty pointless exercise scheduling Tests against Zimbabwe in the first place. It doesn't do them any good being absolutely thrashed like this.

Send a NZ A team or NZ Development team, or have Zimbabwe come over during the NZ summer and play a bunch of domestic sides and development teams.

I like the declaration. Unless the opposition are absolute ***** just finish the game. We had our fun yesterday. Blessing Muzarabani getting injured bowling 40 overs because we were pointlessly chasing 1000 or something isn't good for the game.

This declaration is going to look really stupid when Zimbabwe score 600.

Or more likely, when Henry gets injured. "Yes, we care enough about this game to risk our star pacer – but no, we'd rather make an illogical declaration and get an early plane home than maximise our chances of winning."
