the reasons he gave for them not being in the original squad are pretty reasonable.
It's funny how, given the loud debate about the inclusion (or not) of Sinclair and Vincent in recent weeks, that only now are we being informed of these things.

6-45 sounds very impressive...hope he's back to his best with the ball, the Chappell-Hadlee Series was pretty ugly.

If Mason is so unfit (as he apparantly has told Bracewell) how come he has bowled 16 overs against ND and taken 3/34?

I think Bracewell is telling MORE porkies.
I agree, he should be going to South Africa instead of Mills in my opinion.

Mind you Mills average with the ball is now down to 39.44 instead of being 90-odd:p
I'm please to see a specialist opener being selected. Papps would also be backup wicket-keeper for McCullum I'd say. Marshall will need to pull his finger out on this tour.

Point I hadn't considered...

Vincent has kept for NZ in a couple of ODI's hasn't he? Maybe even Sinclair?

Yes, both have kept wicket for us in ODIs. I think Vincent has gone on record saying he doesn't want to keep any longer, while Sinclair still keeps for Central Districts in one-day matches I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

They're all capable enough with the gloves; better than Dravid from what I've seen. Papps would probably be the best 'keeper, however.

Correcting you, Bevan Griggs has been the wicket-keeper for CD in the State Shield this season.

Let's not have those sorts of comments please.
What's wrong with that? We can have a thread titled "Women asking to be raped?", but we can't call someone a ******?

Okay, thanks. I was sure I had seen a scorecard with a + beside Sinclair's name this season. I suppose I've been wrong once before

you are dead right. Sinclair did keep wicket for CD this season. They dropped Griggs. It was only for 1 or 2 games tho. Griggs is useless!!!

He's off to South Africa next season for a contract, right? I heard something about that on the radio.

Yes, it was in this morning's Dominion Post. He's been offered a decent sum to play for Eastern Province. Basically, Sinclair's had enough of being shafted by NZ Cricket and trying to get by on $30k per year while Craig Cumming enjoys a Blackcaps contract.

it'll be a travesty if Sinclair does not get a nzc contract, good on him for putting the ball in Bracewells court, he's testing them by announcing a poossible contract in Sth Africa.

correct me if im wrong but i dont even think Marshall has a century at 1st class level let alone 3 on the trott.

He didn't when he was first selected for NZ, but his test hundreds certainly count as first class.
