5 out of 6 wickets to spinners. The pitch is turning enough if not square. All the wickets from McConchie and Theo are good nuts. Shows if we had turning decks our batters will struggle.

Though some wickets were thrown away by Canterbury more than half of the wickets from Delport were good balls too.

Very evident our batters struggle vs spin is very real. Looks like a lot of wickets are block, block, bash sorts. More we play on such decks better it is for batters to develop.

This PS game should be five days or at least start earlier. The days start at 10am and are called off for bad light at 5pm - it's half an hour to an hour short of a normal day.

Also lol at Somerville and Delport opening the bowling in the 3rd innings -- surely they should at least try for the Lister banana swing?

Tbf games are never usually played at this time of the year, and if you schedule a game for 5 days that’s an extra day of accommodation fees, an extra day of wages etc etc. It’s a pity about the light but I’m just glad they’ve found a way to get all the games in in a pretty difficult situation.

Yeah, cheaper option to just make sure the pitch is sporting. This one seems about right.

The 2 Canterbury spinners must be wishing Lincoln could be there permanent home, rather than Hagley.

Heh, Guppy walking for an lbw. It’s fun to see a player who knows he has no chance of playing tests and therefore isn’t concerned at all with gaming the umpires.

That is hilarious  The best walk I've ever seen.

Looks like the entries will close for Vandem's May 2022-March 2023 first-class draft game in about a week or so. People can register interest with a post in this thread in the forum games section:

:(

It would be the best (and most dangerous to the crowd) ground in the world if it was upgraded and extended. The attached park is probably the best city park in Aotearoa, or second to Ham Gardens.

Not sure how much the Council has in the bank after the stadium upgrade. Hey maybe NZC could give us a few...oh of course we got extorted by the PCB like a bitch nevermind.

There's no such thing as time, they would have finalized the contracts last month. They will put it on media and social media at some point in time today at least Firebirds will be doing so.
