*Official* Match #4- South Africa vs Sri Lanka- Delhi (D/N)- October 7th

I am so biased against VDD. No matter how many runs he scores when I watch him play I just don’t think he is international class.
And I’m normally a fan of the ugly techniques!!
He seems like a bit of a flat track bully that shines on flat pitches against weaker bowling attacks but then struggles when the going gets tough.

He has a good record in ODIs but has never managed to cut it in test cricket, no test hundreds yet and an average around 30., not good enough.

I think he's batted very well here. He weathered the storm when it was needed and maintained his run-a-ball score on top of that.

I guess he was probably helped a bit by Shanaka being useless.

Mate I can't believe you haven't softened on him after all these years. He has proven himself to be an excellent one day platform setter. Hard hands though.

If South Africa get over 300 which looks likely right now they probably have the win in the bag.

I don't think Sri Lanka have the batting strength to chase a total that big against the SA bowling attack.

Its the way he miss hits the ball consistently… plays a beautiful 6 then nicks the next one for 4. And gets a single because he inside edges it into his pads and rolls away into the gap. I know all batsmen have that luck but it just seems to be more obvious with him.

And it’s why he struggles in Tests. More catches for the constant miss hits.

It’s become finger nails on chalk board for me.

This is unbelievably accurate . He keeps scoring runs though. So I'll take it.

Yeah VDD is perfectly good as a middle-overs player in ODIs. You can lack some refinements and not be the purest ball-striker around if you know how to rotate the strike effectively and construct an innings.

Great platform for SA.

If Rabada finds good form and Coetzee shows something special I think we might have an outside shot!
Nortje loss is hugeeee imo , key middle order wicket taker and could run through sides with his pace .

Coetzee seems like a run machine , he's young but his pace is only in 130s , cannon fodder bowling mostly

Sa are very good just lack 1 wicket taking express pace bowler

Coetzee is not a 130s bowler…
