*Official* India tour of Ireland and England 2022

The dump it outside legstump plan is dumb. He should be going around the wicket and looking for the edge or lbw as he usually does.

Not that it would help given the form these two are in.

Is Pant drinking chocolate milk!?
Well again, why isn't anyone telling them this out in the middle? These things used to get corrected not that long ago...why is the backroom staff letting the game peter out like this?

India were in the driver's seat ahead 257 runs with 7 wickets still in hand at the start of the day. 2 set batsmen at the crease. Only added 120 after that with a lot of the wickets being giveaways. Major loss in momentum right there on a pitch with little in it. What should've been a 425+ lead merely ended up being 378 and England suddenly not feeling too bad about themselves.

Finally Bumrah and Shami at both ends. The problem is that both batsmen are well-set and India has fewer runs to play with. If the two had been used alternately at one end over the last hour the chances of picking up that crucial wicket would have been better.

Yep. You can't be so timid when you're 132 runs ahead. India let themselves get spooked by reputation, not reality as it was at that stage in the game. Now all those fears have come to life. Good on England if they pull this off. This new approach seems to be to concede 3/4ths of the game to the other side so you can convince yourself into believing you have nothing to lose. Then go nuts.
