*Official* India tour of England 2025 General Discussion

It's not so much that it's hot, it's been crazy dry. We've had virtually no rain for 2 months, unheard of at this time of year. The lawn in my garden is brown, like proper August brown in a decent Summer. But I doubt it will have any impact on the Test pitches, they'll all be well watered and the County Championship has shown as usual that there's not been much help for spinners.

In the Ind A vs Lions game, Dubey the SLA was getting some turn and there were puffs of dust exploding once a while like you see in Asia. It definitely looked more helpful for spin than at least I've seen in the past 15-20 years.

Looking forward to this.

Worried about the England attack which looked pretty blunt against Zimbabwe, albeit on a flat pitch.

3-2 England.

Tbf, out of the bowlers who played last week, only Stokes and Bashir (who were the pick of the bowlers) are nailed on to play against India, Cook is obviously nothing more than backup, I feel Carse will come straight back in for Tongue and Atkinson may or may not be fit

Atkinson out of the first Test, suspect it’ll be a seam bowling attack of Stokes, Woakes, Carse and Tongue then
Can't say I'm surprised that he's out of that. I didn't think a hammy was the type of thing that would only take 3 weeks or so to see off. I hope he isn't rushed back in.

So, Robinson will never be considered even if 20 guys are injured?
He'd be on my list now. Leading wicket taker for Sussex this season so far and hasn't got the results his bowling has actually shown. But I don't think he'll play for England again unless there's a change in coaching set up.
