*Official* India Tour of Australia 2018/19

Tbf, it's kinda what happened in 2014 too after that one big partnership ended.
And that was a draw too.

Only scoring 400 here could put India in a dodgy position in a timeless Test, but given the slow run rate and the absolute corpse of a pitch I can't see it being a huge problem for them even if it does happen.

Yes and he agreed with the ICC rating of the pitch. Variable bounce from Day 1 is generally considered poor all around the world
Thanks for that. He also said it was lucky no one was killed. Reckon it was an awful pitch and anyone who thinks it’s “good for cricket” and “heaven forbid batsmen are discomforted” can bat on it to better appreciate the distinction between a fair contest and a blood sport.

Yeah it's not that unreasonable. It's not like the Australians haven't bowled well enough to have gotten a lot more wickets if fresh batsmen were facing instead.
My point was more than "only" scoring 400 wouldn't really present much danger to them if that clear worst case scenario eventuated, more so than that it couldn't happen.

Imagine If they were 700/3 and OS made a post saying he was worried they'd collapse for under 800. Sure they might, but when that's the Gambhiring, you're going okay.

400 here is not a score the team would feel safe with though. There have been loads of games where that kind of first innings score looks small once australia finish batting.
