*Official* India in West Indies 2019

I can only summarise Kohli didn't want to take the risk of having to chase down a 100 or so when someone like Roach is in such great form. Windies bowling is clearly their strength so this ensures they're not a potential factor in the final innings of the game.

Still, it seems a bit pointless if you're going to bowl again on the same day as it hardly gives the bowlers much of a rest. Ponting used to do this fairly regularly and it seemed to do little more than drag out the game by an extra day, although iirc didn't cost his side victory.

Have to say that KL Rahul is the more insecure player I have seen. The team management has put a lot of faith in him(for once a welcome change), but he has failed to repay that faith. Never looks at ease in the crease.

In the 27 test innings he has played since the beginning of 2018, he has averaged 22 and his overall average has dropped under 35 in this period. Has been given a very long rope one has to say.

Was good in the last game I thought. Nervy, but 80 as an opener in this series is pretty decent returns.

His batting yesterday put me off a bit. Given the match situation and the lead being 300, there was a total lack of game awareness one felt. Somehow I have developed this impression about him last one year or so.

Couple of catches dropped in the slips again yesterday. Kohli and Pujara aren't good enough in that position.

Such a stupid, stupid shot to play. Brooks has been really good. Just stick around.

This is a **** assembly of commentators other than Bishop. Gavaskar has just become outright impolite in his dotage, to see him go on in Hindi about Nehra ji and Sharma ji while sharing time with Ganga (?). Don't know whose bright idea it was to have Swann be the MC, the guy is plain awkward. Ajay Jadeja ffs? Even Richards feels nervous and camera shy at times.

That runout from Kohli tho. He should stick to throwing himself around in the covers and leave slip fielding to the others

Overall, a decent series for India, the batting was a bit brittle at times but the conditions were tough and windies bowled really well. Bowling was top notch, no complaints at all.

Vihari and Bumrah the obvious positives.

Harsha Bhogle: 2-0 as expected. India's bowlers were too powerful, too relentless. And Bumrah was outstanding. Big plus the performances of Rahane and Vihari. And Ishant who is playing his best cricket for the last 18-24 months. India would have liked more from the top order. The form of KL Rahul is now a worry and he could struggle to hold his place against South Africa.
