Two more wickets for the Dutch - Tikolo's still having fun but at this rate it looks like he'll be not out on 115, given that Modi probably won't bat. Good stuff. :)

Ten Doeschate might have a broken finger.

This is one of the great innings from Tikolo. Serious balls from Modi to come out and bat injured to see the team past the follow on target now, too.

Quite a controversy in this match. Apparently one of the covers had a hole in it, resulting in a wet spot on the pitch. This has caused the loss of 42 overs. According to a message on the Dutch Cricket board website, they are furious and are close to accusing the Kenyans of deliberately stalling the game.

Tomorrow, play will start 30 minutes early, but a draw looks inevitable. Great knock by Tikolo and a brave move by Modi. Well done.

If the Dutch draw this they can blame no one but themselves. Taking just two wickets in two third-day sessions is fairly appalling, even when Tikolo is batting at one end.

Mind, the point system is fairly strange (win: 14 points, draw 0 points), so I'd expect to see Ryan opening the innings with Zuiderent tomorrow and some blazing hitting as soon as Modi goes.

So say you are in a winning position when it chucks it down, you get the same amount of points as you would if you lost by an innings?

interesting game going on here, has neil said this must be one of Tikolo's best knocks.

Correct.

The only exception would be if more than eight hours of play had been lost to the weather in total - in which case either team is awarded three points.

Aren't there plenty of bonus points available, though? Won't Holland shade this 14-10 or something, same way Namibia did for Nepal?

They ditched the bonus points as they expanded to four-day matches - it was highly unpopular.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure why Namibia went through ahead of Nepal - there were no official playing conditions, but most reports I've read seem to think it was because Namibia were "ranked higher".

Actually, scratch my earlier comment - Netherlands will get 6 points (assuming the final Kenyan partnership don't put on 140, which looks slightly unlikely given Modi's condition) due to their first innings lead.

How's this worked out? All I can find is the following, somewhat vague, paragraph on the ICC site:

"Are there points given for a drawn match?

Points will be allocated for drawn matches for the 2006 competition but these will be weighted in such a way that the focus still remains on winning outright. The reason that draw points are awarded is that it is unfair in a three-round competition to penalise teams that don’t have the opportunity for a result in the event of a significant loss of time through bad weather. This will be reviewed for the 2007-2008 competition in which there a seven rounds in the round-robin stage."
