Not easy for england Lion as Pujara,Shaw and Rahane were told to play for India A in test ( un ifficial) because indias next test in July 2019 vs WI at home so BCCI wants to tunes up them vs best bowler of Lion

Interesting that both Livingstone and Gubbins have been ditched. They were the two batsman who have been around the Lions set-up for a while. Obviously been down to bare bones but they certainly backing young players and not just on stats but gut feel. Surely guys like Max Holden & Tom Kohler-Cadmore fall in that bracket.

Likely 4-day team

Max Holden (21) 1424 runs @ 33.90 (3 100s)
Tom Kohler-Cadmore (24) 2328 runs @ 32.78 (6 100s)
Joe Clarke (22) 3943 runs @ 39.82 (13 100s)
Ollie Pope (20) 1378 runs @ 51.03 (5 100s)
Ben Duckett (24) 4643 runs @ 38.69 (14 100s)
Sam Billings (27) 2753 runs @ 33.98 (3 100s)
Lewis Gregory (26) 1942 runs @ 20.88 (1 100) 204 wickets @ 27.91
Dom Bess (21) 823 runs @ 24.20 (1 100) 83 wickets @ 27.49
Jamie Overton (24) 968 runs @ 17.28 130 wickets @ 33.22
Danny Briggs (27) 1680 runs @ 17.68 (1 100) 261 wickets @ 34.17
Jamie Porter (25) 275 wickets @ 23.78

Sam Hain (23) 2845 runs @ 33.86 (8 100s)
Tom Bailey (27) 904 runs @ 17.05 155 wickets @ 26.05
Zak Chappell (22) 532 runs @ 31.29 31 wickets @ 33.09
Amar Virdi (20) 46 wickets @ 33.34

Obviously those are just their career FC stats but I wouldn't say their FC stats last season were particularly impressive.

Could go Chappell over Gregory and Virdi over Briggs for potential.

What are the points of interest for the squad for you guys ?

Due to domestic performances, I think India might go with three pacers in the 'Tests'. A lot are putting pressure on Ishant and Shami through incredible weight of performances. Of course, no risk to Shami and Ishant at this point. You have Mohammad Siraj who has cleaned up throughout the A Tour with consistent four and five wicket hauls and then you also have in Ranji Trophy this year...

Aniket Choudhary: 40 wickets at 15.57 (tall left arm, fast-medium)
Avesh Khan: 34 wickets at 14.94 (clocked 149kph in IPL)
Ankit Rajpoot: 34 wickets at 15.02 (big outswing)
Varun Aaron: 25 wickets at 20.56 (probably too late for him at 29 years old but great potential prospect to have two opening bowlers for India at 145kph)

Also there are rumours Rahane or Pujara may play.

Due to domestic performances, I think India might go with three pacers in the 'Tests'.
In addition, the Krishnagiri pitch (where the four day games will be played) would normally favour quick bowlers.

Billings 100 in first game.

Chappell picking up wickets but going for runs.

Alex Davies may be an opening option for longer version.

Just about the only positives so far.
