***Official*** England in New Zealand 2018

I see Raval Latham and Nicholls now getting some practice under lights having been dismissed earlier - flexible rules much?

Having said that England owes NZ big time for Jimmy Anderson getting those games for Auckland in 2008, which brought him back into the test side and started his golden run.

I'm sure the favour will be returned tomorrow when it's England's turn to bat. 2-day games really are just open-net practice sessions.

lol at TH doing the "i can't understand why people like this player who is exciting"

sodhi is fun to watch. When he comes on to bowl **** happens. Tastle has earned his selection but for a leggie his bowling is pretty ****ing boring.

A rather leaden footed slash from Malan to edge behind. Must be wishing to give Ali time to get back into red-ball form.

TBF Sodhi isn't really any taller than Santner and only slightly taller than Tastle, so I can understand TH's confusion at his popularity.

Some haphazard batting from England - NZ would be happy to be given many of those wickets that easily in the first test.

Good to see Jamieson bowled well and always fascinated to see how new-ball-swing-specialist Rance goes against higher opposition. Not a lot of swing around but enough to take out Stoneman.

Option from the match chat:

Rance is better than Southee
Discuss...
Definitely not. Though he's fun to watch when it's hooping.

Rance is an absolute spud and I hate how he is even playing.
Meh, he's done well last few seasons and even if he's unlikely to be a genuine NZ option, he provides a good benchmark for other bowlers like Jamieson to live up to.

Seth Rance swings it further and I'll back is faster than the entire Wellington attack, old man Bennett included.

Athlai just jelly

total new ball specialist though atm.

Did Root and Vince really bat twice?

Apparently 12 wickets have been taken in the English innings.
