Why has Ahmed been picked if they're going to choose Root to bowl ten+ overs before he gets a look in? Can't be doing his confidence a lot of good to know that he's basically the 5th choice bowler behind a part-timer.

Been thinking the same, although I think Stokes sees Rehan as someone who can clean up a tail rather than offer any control. Not that Hartley is offering a lot of control with his half volleys at the mo.
