Would you have begrudgingly gone back to CP? Tbf it ironically doesn't help that India holding onto Pujara/Rahane probably a bit too long (latter in particular) has contributed to the transition being stifled.
Yes I'd bring him back. No way playing this many n00bs ends well. But think he's injured.

Also, please don't ever call him CP again. He's a sanskaari boy who doesn't deserve that acronym.

who's patidar and why's he in rather than SK? and why is mukesh a thing also

Patidar's first class numbers very good last few years and coming of from some big knocks, he was the reserve batsman so yeah he gets his chance.

Mukesh ,,who knows , although to be fair his first class numbers are very good.

No it's not injuries, it's the idiot team management and selectors. Pujara is available and scoring loads in domestic. Rahane is available too. When you know you are shot in experience why would you pick patidar when kohli was out out for the 1st 2 tests.
Pujara should've been selected right there and then.
Have you seen Rahane's figures lately? It's not a pretty sight..

That's so good by Anderson. Not so much by Gill though, that was a bit of an owning there in those two overs.

What a nothing shot from Gill. Has a horrible habit of just dangling the bat out half-heartedly outside off stump and keeping his feet on the leg side. At least go with the shot if you're going to prod on 7th stump.

9 to go for Anderson. Think he was more on top there than he ever was in the summer. The openers played and missed on a flat surface a few times against him. Gill (though a kind matchup for him) was all at sea.

Big fear for England is that this will be like the first time last time when the pitch was a road day 1 then broke up on day 3. They did pretty well in the first session under the circumstances.

If Anderson gets Iyer with this plan on this sort of deck then the bloke shouldn't even bother getting on the plane to Australia.
