Kind of a worry that Mark Waugh is in charge of any sort of selection, given how much he struggles to explain even simple concepts regarding who is in charge of selections . . .

with Short being a PONI according to that article the other week, i wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Tassie next season batting in the top six instead of in the lower order or futures league for WA, hard to push past Turner/Agar/Stoinis/Cartwright in the allrounder stakes over there. reckon the bloke’s a gun; a POAI if you will

Yeah possibly, although other states might be interested too.

Short has to play T20I this season.

yeah reckon with the South African series being thereabouts we’ll see people like Short, Weatherald, Neser, Ross, Carey and Wildermuth debut

didn’t even realize the weird t20i tri-series thing was happening until i saw New Zealand’s playing one match over here

I havent looked at the timing but I was thinking Short could get a game even at full/close to full strength.

McDermott not the worst either.

The Thunder's batting doesn't give the greatest confidence. At least with Patterson and Gibson there.

Buttler and Watson are going to have to make 90 each if Thunder chase this, because the rest of them are absolute ****

Short needs to impress with his bowling to get a game (rightfully). Unless he's opening or batting top 3 I can't see him being that good as a specialist bat, and how is he getting in ahead of Finch and Warner?

I don't see why internationals umpires would be any more likely to report Nair than domestic umpires

I hope Carey debuts at the very least, give him some experience before the great Paine experiment eventually fails.

Would like to see Khawaja back in t20s too.

they should be more t20 tri-series, ideally with a game each day for the duration of the series

That's pathetic umpiring. Is it in the rules to refer every run out or stumping appeal to the 3rd umpire? His foot never lifted at any stage there and the umpire still referred it.

There's something seriously wrong with the BBL umpiring. They can't have any form of DRS to fix the atrocious decisions that the incompetent officials often make because it takes too long, but they can waste time referring every obvious run out and stumping?

I don't buy it

Me neither, it's just the way it is. You always see bowlers get reported in international cricket who never had any trouble in domestic cricket. They just pay more attention to it I guess.
