If you picked a A side tommorrow, Bryce McGain should be one of first players picked IMO. He should be picked ahead of Hogg in the Test side anyway. If your going to pick 30 plus bowler you might as well pick the best and McGain is far better First Class bowler then Hogg. Yeah agree 100% that spin bowling is old man game. Picking a spinner who is under 25, is like picking a 18 yo batsmen.

He actually improving, well getting a chance and performing ok in OD cricket. Really only Dan Cullen plays both forms out of the spinners in Australia and he is not improving. So even if they picked a OD squad they would still have FC cricket in mind.

Anyone else think Hughes' backlift is counter-productive? Seems to hamper his leg-side play quite considerably and wouldn't really be extremely helpful with power. If it's got him this far, then he must be doing something right, but I'd be interested to see him stunt it a bit.

Yeah. He is quite unorthodox and also appears to bat very low to the ground. His bat seems to be a bit too long for him, but it's probably just his low stance and backlift that makes it seem so. His technique seems to be effective, but it doesn't look pretty.

If I ever see any Australian selectors on the street I'm seriously going to stab those ****s. I actually saw David Boon at the Tasmania Test, but that is another story. How the **** can you pick 5 out of 13 players from one state. Just go and **** our whole season why don't you. Add to that Hughes and Smith, plus a couple other back ups are going to be in Malaysia for Under 19 World. We have the most players in that squad as well FFS. Depending on how far they do will be out of the rest of the season. Thats bloody seven first team players out. I know the other state so crap they can't produce any International standard cricketers. But serioursly give some of those retards from those other states a chance and stop picking our players. Biggest joke ever.

Apart from Haddin, I think we cover our missing players, We really need to get a good back-up keeper at the end of the season...

Likey sides:

FRC: Smith (k), Jaques, Forrest, Katich, Thornley, O'Keefe, Hendriques, Haurtiz, Nicholson, Bird, Bollinger

Smith will never be a opening batsmen at any FC level. Not sure if Forrest is really good enough to play as OD batsmen. Maybe Cooper or Warner get he's spot. But still leaves with an inexperience batsmen in an important position. O'Keefe solid but never will be anything more. Nicholson poor in ODs, Bollinger average in ODs and Bird crap but better then the rest. So many holes in that side, but wasn't much better to start off with.

PC: Jaques, Mail, Forrest, Katich, Thornley, Smith (k), Hendriques, Casson, Nicholson, Cameron, Bollinger

Not so bad with Casson back in form, which makes our bowling attack still pretty good. Need big runs from Smith and Hendriques if our batting going to stand up though.

Overall a fair few holes in both sides and require some youngsters to really stand up namely Forrest and Hendriques.

Haha, yeah. Put it down as a typo the first time I saw it. Then when I saw it again like that in the first class side, I had a little chuckle but assumed he had just copy/pasted and made changes. Genuinely laughed when I saw it a third time though, and the fourth time was just too much..
