I really don't understand why this season he's gone like three miles across his crease to the point where he's missing balls on off stump because he can't reach them
Because he doesn't trust his eye anymore. This is the start of the decline v good bowling - especially since he's opening. He knows he'll miss balls and now wants to be outside off erej it happens, as opposed to in his prime at 4 when he never missed them

You guys aren't wrong and he's getting out like this a lot

but this time it wasn't on him. He played the right line as the ball was coming and even up until it pitched. Ball looked like it was repelled from his bat like opposite magnetic poles

Yeah but he's taking it way too far. He needs to go back to an off stump movement rather than six inches outside

Sears might be one of those dudes who feels faster than he is. On a radio interview maybe 12 months ago(?) his Wellington team mate Conway was putting him in the fastest bowlers in the world (as quick as Lockie).
