*Official* Australia in India 2023

There have definitely been rumours floating around but I personally think it's a bit crass to be fishing around for those in a situation for this (looking at you, Sourav). Let the bloke heal in privacy.

He always had a poor record against India, the last two games have gone some way in fixing it.

Already an ODI ATG imo but could be top 3 if he puts in another good WC performance this year.

I will be pleasantly surprised if Australia plays India on a pitch like that in the WC

Nothing wrong with the deck but it brought our quicks into play

Yeah I imagine the decks at the WC will either be 350 plays 350+ with some dew involved or more spin friendly.

Yeah this is what I think too and exactly why I think they're experimenting with this Head/MMarsh opening idea; just all out aggression at the top of the order when boundary hitting is at its easiest. People have kind of written Warner off unfairly on the basis of his rubbish Test form, but he's probably better suited to #3 or #4 these days with the way he tends to accumulate with singles and twos rather than explode early.

Warners hard to quantify because he's been in good ODI form but either side of that he had a torrid T20 WC and can't buy runs in test cricket. Ide back Warner over marsh but it's gonna be frustrating if Warner has a bad tourney and marsh is sitting right there.

Marsh the ODI cricketer is frustrating in general cause I don't know how he actually fits into a full strength side. He's still a genuine wicket taking option but his recent injuries mean he's only realistically able to provide a part timers workload and I don't like the idea of 4 specialist bowlers+Maxy and part time overs. You should be able to stretch 10 overs between Maxy-Part time marsh + head but if one of the frontline guys has an off game it could get messy (above is assuming marsh plays at 5 over green). I think you could fix all these issues by fielding a lineup of
1.Warner
2.Head
3.Smith
4.Green
5.Carey/Marsh
6.Marsh/Carey
7.Maxwell

But the selectors seem determined to back marnus despite his mediocre returns so far.

Wasn't Lee the main man in 2003 rather than McGrath?
McGrath had 21 wickets @ 14 in the tournament, even if that is heavily influenced by his haul v Namibia

He was player of the tournament in 2007 and one of the best in 1999

very harsh critic if any of those aren't considered top tier IMO

Marsh should be one of the first chosen as we aren’t winning anything by dawdling along to 275-300

Warner
Head
Marsh
Smith
Green
Carey

Marnus shouldn’t even be in the squad & there’s an argument for replacing Maxwell with David unless his form improves

Bichel was arguably better than both but all three had awesome tournaments.
Lee definitely bowled the best of them, he was unplayable at times with the new rock and didn't get as many rewards as he should have. It's hard to compare them all but I'd even put Gillespie ahead of Bichel in the few games he played, his spell against India was special.

Bichel of course stands out because of the 7/20 v England and his batting in the tournament as well

Cricket Addict,
Do you think india have any plan to face Spencer Jonson at Oval june 7-11 Spencer @ Left arm Medium fast bowler Indian player Lack the skill in last 5 year vs Topley ( 6 fer) Vs Mustafizur (5fer) vs Boult ( 5 fer) & now M. Starc (5/53)

Spencer is included in Aus A vs Lion in eng for Un official> Couple of test who took 16 wkts in 2 FC games in Aus
Aus Have him on Ashes Radar.

When India will learn to face Left arm fast or medium fast bowker?
