*Official* 2nd Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 13 - 17 Feb 2021

Was hoping to wake up and find that we'd bowled out the India tail fairly swiftly and were making a steady-ish start. At least, er, the first part happened.

What's happened here? I'm assuming the bowling has been good but have we just let the fact that it's a turning pitch get in our heads?

Good bowling sustaining pressure from both ends.. Ashwin and Axar doing great job
Axar giving a good imitation of Jadeja, which we missed dearly in the 1st test..

do we get more wtc points for innings victories? eng need another 70 odd to avoid follow on

no point enforcing it if there are no extra points

Daily reminder that Anderson did not bowl in the Edgbaston test except a few balls and he just made hay of 4 bowler England.
Daily reminder that Smith averaged 60 give or take on the preceding Ashes tour and would play Anderson using his old fella while batting left handed

I've noticed Pant has started to keep his gloves together. He previously used to have them apart and as a result kept grabbing at the ball instead of letting it nestle in. He still does that at times tbf but it's a start.

Still stands up well before it pitches which is really really bad.

Assume he's working on all this and we hopefully see improvement in a year or two.
