*Official* 2022 New Zealand Tour of England, Ireland, Scotland & Netherlands

Doing this comfortably. Think a desperate change of plan is needed - bring out the short ball attack maybe?

Foakes has been extremely composed this innings.

Looks like night time at the ground. How is it not pelting down. Best use of Mullet would be to have him out the back doing a rain dance on one leg. What a woeful test for a whole bunch of total passengers. The NZ top order should hang their heads in shame, wonderful opportunity to get a rare win at Lords but some blokes didn’t even turn up.

It’s come to the point where people need to call it out for the shortcoming it is.
Our experts like Coney, Macca, Doully etc? You joking right? They won't even have Ajaz in the playing xi haha

Apparently NZ got to the ground at 10AM.

Dunno why you'd do that, don't want to psychoanalyse but does that get you in a good frame of mind?

I expect the lesson we'll take from this is that Wagner or Henry should have played instead of Patel. Be surprised if he gets another test until they get to the subcontinent next...

So, changes for the 2nd test. Obviously CDG and Nicholls in, but what else? Thoughts. At least it is 3 tests, not 2, so if we are good enough we can win the series.

The lesson we should take is that the top 4 needs to score some runs. All were horrendous twice (8/8 failures).

Kane is such a good player of spin he doesn't rate spinners. Sometimes you wonder if he even knows there's a proper spinner playing in the side.

Agree - I hate this ho-ho-ho Kane just doesn't rate spinners so doesn't captain them properly thing. He simply doesn't involve a spinner in any kind of relevant way (outside of SC tours), never gets them into the game, and it's a waste. A minor deal in the scheme of things but still not good.
I think it's partly also that he went through age group levels with Southee and Boult and basically just always wants them to bowl.

That's odd indeed. Maybe they didn't want to spend hours ruminating on the outcome of the game, and therefore just trust that you're bowlers are in good enough rhythm to hit the ground running?

Tis a bit weird though
