As cricketers, no. Batsman vs Bowler, Tendulkar just above. Tendulkar's bowling is few classes ahead of Holding's and Waqar's batting.
Holding's batting would have been more rated if not for the misfortune of having to bat alongside Garner.

Whatever it takes!!!
He batted for a while in the 83 WC final no? There was genuine chance of them winning when he was batting and he was so disappointed when he got out.

That is inconsistent. You are rating top bowlers as twice the impact over Tendulkar so by that logic even guys like Holding and Waqar rank above Tendulkar.

Points of Tendulkar over McGrath:

- More accomplished across countries
- Teenaged genius
- Weaker team generally
I honestly don't see how the either of the latter two makes Tendulkar any better, not am I convinced of the validity of the first.

Something in McGrath's favour

Better record against top batters than Tendulkar against top bowlers.

McGrath had outstanding success against the best players.
Against Tendulkar maybe but against Lara would be edge to Lara. But I accept the argument.

They are minor points. Tendulkar's teenage knocks in Eng, Aus and SA are something special and unique in cricket history. Weaker team thing would be the greater pressure in the 90s point.

Very surprised. McGrath doing better than Marshall so far even though Marshall is a better bowler.

Don't think you got the point. McGrath is better than Tendulkar because he brings more than twice the impact Tendulkar brings. If he bring 1.5 times impact, then it would be Tendulkar, Batsmen has 1/6 chance to do the work. Fast bowlers have 1/3 chance to their work. Holding and Waqar definietly more impactful than Tendulkar. Are they twice impactful? no in my opinion. Hence Tendulkar > Waqar / Holding.

I can't make heads or tails of that. Is that the ranking system in your head all the time?
