Tendulkar is a better test player, but Kohli has taken the LO stuff to another level again. Also, I think Kohli's importance as a test cricketer is under rated, especially as captain. So if you wanted one of them to bat for your life, it would be Tendulkar, but I think in like 15-20 years' time, Kohli may well be seen as more important in having kept test cricket at the centre of things despite T20 evolving as it has.

I don't Kohli is a better player of fast bowling than Sachin but the gap between them is not that big.
Sachin is not some great player of fast bowling.
His record against the best pacers of his era is not great. Only averaged 32 against Pakistan when Wasim played.
