Is this test only (cos Gavaskar is there), cos then Sanga is a much better player than Kapil

Top 6-10 would be between:

Pak - Waqar Younis, Javed Miandad
SL - Kumar Sangakkara
Ind - Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli

I think the debate for #6 spot is between Sangakkara and Kohli. Kapil was highly celebrated cricketer but not necessarily a true test ATG as his bowling numbers and even batting numbers are a notch below the true ATG all rounders( Imran, Botham).

They will be after Kohli and Kapil from India in my opinion.

I’d rate Kohli as a better test cricketer than Kumble and Ashwin also, cause he managed to master multiple conditions at his peak, and generally has good record overseas(great in Aus and SA, decent in SL and WI, and has atleast proved himself in Eng).

Also if the thread is only tests, I’d say between Sanga and Dravid(Kohli if he makes a comeback, could be rated above both). If ODIs and tests both, then I’d say you need to include Kohli in your top 5, because Gavaskar was a liability in ODIs.
