I don't think both can be rated as wicket-keepers in the first place, but as a batsman Prior is slightly better than Akmal but there is not much seperating them.Prior maybe the better batsman but as a keeper he is much worse. Akmal is the better wicket-keeper batsman where I am concerned.
They do keep in tests. So even if you don't think that they are keepers per say, you have to think how they keep in tests. It is like x person may not think that Laxman was a test opener but might have opinions of how Laxman was as a test opener.I don't think both can be rated as wicket-keepers in the first place
TBH I disagree. I'd actually rather have Prior keep for my team than Akmal. They both have their good and bad days but I think Prior has a greater percentage of good ones.as a keeper he is much worse
I do know you disagree. I disagree with your disagreement though.TBH I disagree. I'd actually rather have Prior keep for my team than Akmal. They both have their good and bad days but I think Prior has a greater percentage of good ones.
Courtney Browne? How about his drop of Steve Waugh. Talk about a big miss, in his first test no less. However, as I said, the times Ive seen him there have been few worse.
Akmal is one of the worst keeper batsmen Ive seen. So many mistakes and simple ones at that.
However, I certainly havent seen anything close to all his games and if I was giving him the benefit of the doubt Id say that maybe Ive just seen him at bad times.
However, as I said, the times Ive seen him there have been few worse.
Pretty much agree completely with both these posts. Akmal has been awful for a fair while, with bat and gloves. Prior hasn't, yet at least, though that he will be is certainly not beyond question. Having said that, there was certainly a time when Akmal looked seriously good - while comparisons (alongside Dhoni) to Sangakkara were OTT, he was looking good. Then it all went seriously wrong on the tour of England.Courtney Browne? How about his drop of Steve Waugh. Talk about a big miss, in his first test no less.
That said, I do have him on tape pulling off an absolutely lightning millimetres-in-it stumping of Stuart Law a few years ago. Still, he was ordinary with the gloves.
im lost..If you would have asked me this a month ago I would've said Prior. But his keeping and batting have really turned around of late. His keeping in this match, where the ball is bouncing every which way, has been pretty impressive. Plus, go back about a year and a half ago and he was one of the better keepers around. So yeah, Akmal at the moment.
That made more sense in my head. Edited.im lost..
