Don't think there's any scenario where I have him over Punter.
well, I already have him ahead of Punter because I don't have Ponting as high as you, I believe he is less technically flawed and matched Ponting's output while having an infinitely harder job than him.

I don’t know. Punter was averaging 59 or something after 100 tests. Root never peaked that high and would probably retire with an average less than 50.

He is a late bloomer, he hit his peak in the age where many start declining and only seems to get better with age, hard to say where he'll end his average with, most probably around his current numbers though.
