Is Dusan Shanaka the mike brearly of our era

Kenneth Viljoen

International Debutant
Nah it's Darren Sammy , nobody will remember Shanaka 30 years from now, Darren Sammy has a stadium named after him ..Man captained West Indies in all 3 formats as a 5th change bowler and a No.8 batsman with very humble stats ..Darren Sammy is Head Boy of the Mike Brearley school of cricketers , his best quality was to create Good Vibes in the West Indian Team .

Specialist captain.

At the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium, there's a stand named after our current #3, Johnson Charles.

St. Lucia doesn't produce many cricketers.

At least Sammy was the captain of West Indies 2 world cup 20 20 wins, world cups are very hard to win look at Messi and Argentina

This is funny as ****.

Not sure how this population compares to other places in the Caribbean. Barbados seems to have about 55% more people with a total of 281,000 and they constantly produce West Indies cricketers. Cricket must not be overly popular in St. Lucia. Or maybe it's popular but their system is no good compared to Barbados, which seems to be the gold standard cricketing system in the Caribbean.

all pale in comparison to Rezza Gaznavi

Tim Paine was roughly replacement value as a cricketer despite being picked from club cricket IMO.

Reeza is definitely the GOAT though. What better way to judge one of the only totally subjective criteria that really matters than how influential his family members are?

It is amazing that Slippy threads generate as much discussion as they do when the only reply should be "no"
