Shame there is no space for Shahbaz Nadeem right now. Jadeja has the left arm spinner position locked up.

Is Jadeja basically useless as a bat now? I remember a few years ago he played some impactful innings, nothing since then.

Shardul Thakur is an interesting selection. His figures look impressive, having lasted two full seasons and picking up loads of wickets. Then we find he's not very tall- only 5'9". That's a negative for a fast bowler, on unhelpful pitches. Let's just hope he's decently fast after four domestic seasons.

Faiz Fazal in the ODI/T20I side is a questionable selection. He lacks the strike rate to count in limited overs. We guess he's selected only because Dhawan apparently needs a break and he's left-handed, but really, both are equally poor in ODIs and T20Is right now. In the Zimbabwe tour, Rohit and Rahul will be the best opening combination for the team.

They've picked Jadeja because of two triple centuries, so they should play him at six/seven, with four other bowlers. There's no point hiding him at eight, where his batting is no factor, and his bowling isn't likely to get loads of wickets unless it's a cracked-top square turner.

Squads for both tours seem to have most of the best they can get. It's now up to the final XI on the field.

Sran looks good. Excellent yorker in the last over. Seems to lack pace for bouncers though.

Craig is Sean Ervine's brother, and has a very good ODI record - 1400 runs @ 36 with 2 hundreds and 8 fifties. Haven't really seen him play before this.
