In terms of pure bowling skill, is Bumrah the greatest you have seen?

In terms of pure skill (I am defining by the different tools at his disposal to get a batsman out), has there been a better bowler than Bumrah that you have seen?

Bumrah's arsenal:

- Seam both ways
- High degree of late swing both ways without noticeable wrist change
- Sharp inswinging yorker
- Very clever slower ball through the offcutter
- Reverse inswing

Marshall:
- Swing both ways
- Off and leg cutter
- Sharp skiddy bouncer
- Straight yorker

Wasim:
- Late swing both ways
- Reverse both ways
- Sharp bouncer
- Swinging yorker
- Decent slower ball

All have the advantage of skiddiness from short runups. Bumrah is the hardest to read. Marshall has a sheer pace advantage. Wasim made perhaps the best use of the crease and angles and was equally effective both sides of the wicket.

Than the one's that I've seen? No
Only one close is Steyn who was very skillful himself. But Bumrah has more of a complete skill set and bowling iq imo.

I haven't seen Marshall or Barnes so can't compare with them ofc. I'd take Bumrah over any other pacer on pure all round skill.
With Akram I haven't seen him bowl live as well, but I'd just have Bumrah slightly above from what I know.

In terms of getting a batsman out; the best I have seen in no specific order was Akram, Donald, McGrath and Steyn.

No.

No I think Mohammad Asif and James Anderson were better. It doesn't always translate for various reasons as we can see from those two.

Bumrah needs to have an actual career and not just some memerable big series.

Bumrah has never really developed his bouncer or at least doesn't use it with any frequency. Hasn't held him back in Australia but in general it's a surprising omission from his skillset. You'd think with his action and smarts he'd have multiple variants of it like Roberts.

Yeah I would have expected him to use it more as a shock ball.

Shane Warne.
Warne vs Murali on skill is very hard to say.

I think Warne originally had more drift. Murali spins a bit more on average. Both roughly as accurate. Warne has a good top spinner and great flipper but a poor wrongun. Murali has the doosra which is his big advantage.

Murali's skills comes more from his unique built tbh.
