ICC Emerging Nations Trophy (Sim League X)

jimmy101

Cricketer Of The Year
Continuing on from the most recent version of the Sim League I am back with the ultimate battle of the proverbial minnows. For the most part I have been simming LOIs lately, this tournament will mark a return to red ball cricket. To get things rolling here I am hoping to get somewhere in the vicinity of eight or more participants, managing up to two different sides. Hopefully we can get some of the CW resident experts on the Associates scene to join in for this one.

-

Tournament Format

Four-day matches. Sixteen teams divided into groups of four. After the group stage the top two sides will progress to the quarter finals knockout phase. In the event of a tie/draw during a final, the team which earns the most points in the match will progress. If teams are equal on points, the team victorious in the first innings will progress. In the event of a tied/drawn match with teams tied after the first innings & equal points, the match shall be replayed.

Teams

Afghanistan: Teuton
Bangladesh: Kraken
Barbados: Milenko47
Combined Islands: _Ed_
Guyana: SillyCowCorner1
Hong Kong: *****

Kenya
Namibia: GoodAreasShane

*Players may also choose to enter standalone Hong Kong, UAE, Canada or USA, rather than combined teams, if they wish.

Points system

Win: 16 points
Tie: 8 points
Draw: 5 points

Batting Points (first 110 overs of first innings only):
200 to 249 runs - 1 point
250 to 299 runs - 2 points
300 to 349 runs - 3 points
350 to 399 runs - 4 points
400 runs or over - 5 points

Bowling Points (first 110 overs of first innings only):
3 to 5 wickets taken - 1 point
6 to 8 wickets taken - 2 points
9 to 10 wickets taken - 3 points

Eligibility

- Played ODI, T20I, or Associate List A cricket sometime between 2003 - 2019
- International debut in 1993 or after.
- Welsh-born players active during this era at FC level are eligible, including representatives of the Welsh national cricket team.
- Carribean players active during this era at FC level are also eligible for their respective team, regardless of whether they represented the West Indies or not.

Host nation

Global.

Injuries

Off.

If you would like to join, you may choose your preferred team straight away. Squad size for each side in this comp is 15. Hopefully we can get most people here managing their favourite minnow side and/or home country, which promises to be a lot of fun. After everyone's first preference has been decided, we can begin choosing secondary sides for those down for managing more than one team.

To everyone in general, if there are players not listed in the player pool that you feel should be eligible, please don't hesitate to enquire about it.

Teuton

International Captain
I'm in. Pretty flexible on team. Will say Afghanistan unless someone else wants them. Otherwise I could do Zim, Netherlands or Scotland.

What's the rules re McGarrell, Hemp and Lambert? Two of them played for both the West Indies and the US whereas Hemp would've played a heap of games for Wales if they were a proper international team as well as Bermuda.

Why the international debut after 1993 clause, Jimmy? Can't it be 1990?
It's just a sort nerf for some of the sides. I imagine you were hoping for Lara, but in a comp such as this Lara would be as valuable as Bradman so he's unavailable I'm afriad. T&T are still looking strong without him, but feel free to change sides if you like.

USA, Canada & Bermuda aren't in the comp anymore, as Hong Kong & UAE have been split into standalone teams. But if someone wants they can by all means enter any North American team. Happy for ring-ins such as McGarrell, Cummins to play for Canada, & Lambert & Theron to play for the USA as they didn't play for any other applicable country during the 2003 - 2019 window. David Hemp was born in Bermuda, so I would most likely keep him as a representative of Bermuda in this sim.
