Lol, Bumrah is the most Pakistani of Indian fast bowlers.
In the sense that he's great, but gets every criticism thrown at him that the Pakistani greats of old got. He has too much unrealistic expectation and not enough support, and the moment he struggles just a little, people talk about him like he's past tense.
Already gets accused of chucking by some, wonder when some jealous idiots will start accusing him of tampering too?
Anyway, I have nothing but support, and good wishes for the lad. Hope he can take the 5th Test off too, regardless of fitness. Indian team's management of him has been woeful. Not to mention so called fan reactions.

From what I can see, only one person is even remotely suggesting that he's on a slight downward trajectory, and no one's referring to him in the past tense.
He's easily the best bowler in the world, an ATG and one who can challenge those in the highest bowling tier of all time.
Don't know who accuses him of chucking, but haven't seen it here.

I blame whomever it was who wrote that Bumrah had never (at the time) conceded over 100 runs in an innings. Now he has, but Shardul only went for 55. Shardul > Bumrah

Lol, he'll retire when he wants to. This is literally the first genuinely poor innings of his career, and you're saying this. Back off the ledge, he's an important part of Indian cricket, and will continue to be.
wtf - one not so good innings on a road. How many did Steyn have or Mcgrath. When he bowled in the first innings of the first test everyone said he was better than Marshall. He’s had a very good series. Not everything he does is going to be insane. There is a law of averages here.

I take back every criticism I had of Sachin. He's the GOAT for having to deal with this loony pressure coming from this fanbase.

India is a very substandard side when travelling. And has been for over a decade. Our team flatters to deceive that they are competitive and fighting well. But for more than a decade that competitiveness has failed to deliver series win SENA except two BGT wins that I am inclined to call fluke. Gabba 2021 was a false dawn. We are mediocre travellers.

Here's a stat. This was the first time Bumrah went for 100+ runs in an innings. Marshall did it 5 times, McGrath 9, Steyn 15.

Bumrah has played most of his career with 3-5 averaging 28 or whatever. In this series that improved but instead we started dropping more catches. He’s definitely been let down to answer the OP.

No Shami, no Ashwin, old Jadeja is the biggest part of the problem in the attack right now. I don't think India was THAT poor of a touring side, and had genuine success with a more settled, balanced bowling attack. Right now having a one pronged threat for bowling is rather rough.
The batting is also in a transition period, but I'm a little more confident in the young talent coming through on that end, and their ability to replace what came before.

We do have decent fast bowlers like yudhvir singh and gurnoor brar in ranjis but problem is that selectors go by ipl
