The Tiger King
Not really. It is just one single test FFS.It seems like this England series may be the beginning of the end.
The guy is resilient. He's come back from a serious injury before as well. This is a hiccup not downhill.

It's only his 3rd Test of the series, but it's been a tough series on tough wickets, whenever he comes back he surely won't be worked as hard, I hope for his sake that he can bounce back from thisNot really. It is just one single test FFS.

I don't think so tbh. The series was set up in such a way that if Bumrah doesn't play this match India really lose the series. They might still lose of course but with Bumrah its a chance to even things up.it's more than just that isn't it?
This was the real point of the threadin his test career he has featured in more test losses than test victories
Um, yeah and ask why because you think it would be the oppositeThis was the real point of the thread
The horrorI think the point of the thread is spelling capitalize with a 'z' and not an 's'

Pfft like Bond would know anything about career ending injuriesit's more than just that isn't it?
Bond (MI coach for years) reckons he is one injury away from Test retirement, he is at an arrangement where he plays 3 out of 5 major matches and cannot bowl more than a 4-5 over spell, It definitely feels like he's not physically in a spot where he can handle any other injuries. Resilience is a thing, but some things are just not sustainable, and that action is one of those things, even with his hyperextension.
The real shock news is salty getting active and starting threads the moment India suck while conveniently staying away from current game and series chats till then, when we were doing well.In shock news, cricket is in fact a team sport and the performance of one guy can't outweigh the rest of his team being increasingly crap.
Life is just a journey from birth to death. The beginning of his end was his birth itself. It seems like this England series may be the beginning of the end.

There'd be multiple instances of it for most pacers. If you look at % of tail wkts throughout career, Bumrah sits somewhere in the middle with pacers like Akram, Steyn high. They would have had multiple series like this I'm sure40 v top order and 8 v tail enders wouldn't be that unusual for most bowlers would it?
Exactly, in fact it's what you'd expect. The big difference imo, is the comparison of conditions between the Aus and Eng series. Bumrah was a dynamo out here and if catches were dropped it didn't matter as he could exploit the conditions to produce another chance soon after. Whereas on these flat bazball pitches if a catch goes down then you get plenty of time chasing leather to regret it. Kind of underscores the importance of conditions in cricket and how they can level out even the best of players. I more concerned about pitch conditions than the skills of the opposition. The only bowlers I've feared have been Snow, Ambrose and Clive Lloyd's 4 horsemen. Whereas I get really worried if Australia is batting on a green mamba, sub con sandpit or under clouds against practically anybody.40 v top order and 8 v tail enders wouldn't be that unusual for most bowlers would it?

Agreed on the bazball pitches part, especially considering that session at Lords where Moeen and Crawley scored @7 an over. Nothing wrong with the bowling, just a very good batting surface coupled with modern test batters fearlessly playing their shots.Exactly, in fact it's what you'd expect. Very heavily influenced by the 5 drops in the first test tbf.
