I am very confused, I was supposed to call Stokes's 135 an "innings" all this time???
Yes. Nobody has ever referred to any score as an inning. And if they did, they’re completely wrong.

I believe from any recent match thread you’ll easily be able to find the phrase “great/lucky/bad/whatever innings” in reference to a single batsman’s effort.
