There's no argument! Marshall may be the better bowler, yes, but Imran is far and away the better player. Imagine if Botham the bowler was actually Ambrose.

Like literally, I don’t get how you can possibly try to compare two players with completely opposite roles (opening bowler vs opening batsman) from 50 years apart. Some of us can’t even make decisions on comparisons between contemporaries in the same discipline.

Statham held a world record (most Test wickets) - albeit only briefly.
I agree with @Coronis that this, and other 'Player Comparisons', are impossible to judge.
Smith is held in higher regard in CW circles (ranked 5th best opener behind Hobbs, Hutton, Gavaskar and Sutcliffe in the Batting Poll) while Statham is underrated.
