Gillespie - Possible Injury?

Natman20

International Debutant
Mark Gillespie is to see a specialist about a neck injury and won't play in the Black Caps' World Cup warm-up cricket match against Bangladesh in Barbados tomorrow.

Apparently he had parralysis in his right arm but it is temporary according to what Fleming said.

It doesn't sound too serious but it wouldn't be very nice if we had to send for someone else to cover him.

Who would you like to see replace him if it came to that Natman? I'm thinking Chris Harris but we would probably need to an out-and-bowler like Chris Martin (and he's definitely that)

Yeah probably Chris Martin going on recent form but personally I would rather see Harris back again.

I wouldn't mind Harris, I suppose. But would you put him straight in the team? Or Tuffey/Mason?
Well, he plays a different role to those two but yeah I would trust him to get through 10 overs if he doesn't get smacked in his first 5, so probably would play him ahead of either of those two and he would fit in nicely between McCullum and Vettori (or even before McCullum, depending on the situation) in the batting order.

It'd be a shame if Harris had to play as a last-minute substitute but I suppose it'd be better than not playing at all.

So you're happy with the seam attack of Bond/Franklin/Oram? I can imagine us resorting to spinners in the first 20, or delaying the powerplays quite a bit with that attack.

We'll have to wait and see what the pitches we'll be playing on are like but the twin-spin option is looking quite likely I think...and luckily we've got two decent ones

Bear in mind that this is the same person who a few years ago claimed that Vettori wasn't a good ODI bowler and his economy rate was only so low because he was lucky that nobody had slogged him as yet...

Patel equates to Vettori (who you might note I've not said any such thing about for a little while, incidentally...) how exactly?
